Since opening our doors, Donley A/C & Plumbing has strived to treat our customers like family by providing exceptional home services with honesty and integrity. Hunter Hitchens, a member of our HVAC team, took this mission above and beyond during a recent service call. 

A typical heating service appointment took a drastic turn when Malone, a blind 10-year-old bulldog, fell into the freezing waters of the family pool. Hunter jumped into action immediately, lying at the pool’s edge and reaching in until he could lift out the 60-pound dog.

Malone’s owner, Kim Slaughter, says, “I’m just thankful that he was here, there was somebody who loved pets as much as we do. A lot of people don’t realize how important they are.” 

To Hunter, there was no choice but to rescue the family pet. “By the time I hit the back door, I already had the jacket off, about to take the second one off because I knew either I had to go in or she had to go in,” he said.
