Getting Ready for 2023 with the Inflation Reduction Act
Date: January 30, 2023
What is the 2023 Inflation Reduction Act?
With the help of the Inflation Reduction Act, families in Arizona will be able to perform repairs around the house, buy energy-efficient appliances when they’re needed, and reduce monthly utility costs.
The Inflation Reduction Act was passed by President Biden to combat climate issues and improve the safety of American energy. Additionally, the Inflation Reduction Act offers immediate discounts to help upgrade your home’s energy efficiency all at a reduced cost.
So, what does this mean for you? According to whitehouse.gov, you will have access to energy-related household savings:
- Rebates for the installation of modern electric appliances, such as efficient heat pumps, water heaters, laundry dryers, stoves, and ovens. You can get rebates that range from 50% to 100% of the cost of the appliances. Rebates are also available to millions of low-income households in Arizona.
- Rebates to help make repairs and energy-efficient improvements for those who live in single and multi-family properties.
- Help the environment by going green! Tax credits are available covering up to 30% of the expenses to install battery storage systems, solar panels, and energy-efficient home upgrades, as well as replacing outdated heating and cooling systems. Income limits do not apply.
- Grants to assist state and local governments in implementing the most recent energy requirements, which could result in a new homeowner in Arizona saving up to $446 annually.
The full FAQs for consumers on the tax credit and rebates for energy efficient home improvements is planned to be released in the first half of 2023. Be sure to keep an eye out for updated information from the White House.
How can Donley help?
Becoming energy efficient in your home can help you save on your energy bills while also helping the environment. If you are in the market for a new water heater Donley has a great option for you.
A tankless water heater is heated as needed when you turn on the faucet. The heater’s internal sensor automatically turns off the unit when you are not utilizing the hot water in order to conserve energy.
Are you in need for a new heating or cooling system? At Donley we can also assist you with updating your outdated appliances, to get your home feeling like new. We have many options available, so you can find the right fit for you and your family. Read more about the options below.
Split systems: A split system consists of an outside air conditioner and an indoor heater. Split systems move air around the house via ductwork.
Mini-split systems: Because they don’t need ductwork, mini-split systems are a wonderful option for newly constructed or previously uncooled rooms. They are helpful for wine cellars, media rooms, and home offices.
Heat pumps: A heat pump system offers both cooling and heating capabilities. It releases heat outside in the summer by removing it from the air within. The procedure is reversed in the winter.
Variable speed compressor cooling systems: Rather than cycling on and off, a variable speed compressor cooling system continually circulates air at a reduced capacity. Only during times of extreme need does the compressor operate at a higher speed.
Dual and hybrid systems: Combines a backup heating system that runs on a different fuel source with a heat pump. These systems provide effective cooling and heating throughout the year.
